"DANCING WITH THE STARS" - LANCE BASS
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Lance Bass should be a shoo-in for the "Dancing with the Stars" finals -- after losing his shoe. Bass lost a shoe last night, while doing an energetic jitterbug. But he kept on dancing, and won over the judges. Bruno Tonioli says Bass was "brilliant." Bass and his partner have this week's top scores from the judges. But Cody Linley could be in real trouble. He and Julianne Hough are at the bottom. This was her first week back in competition after having her appendix out. Tonight, another celeb gets the boot. Next week is the season finale.
"DANCING WITH THE STARS" - CONCERT
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Is "Dancing With the Stars" a dance show or a TV concert? How about: stop, you're both right? Some big names in music will perform tonight before we find out which celebrity-dancer is booted from the show. Aretha Franklin, Leona Lewis, John Legend and Julianne Hough will perform. Kristi Yamaguchi returns tonight to dance with Mark Ballas while Aretha Franklin sings "Respect."
MILEY CYRUS - IS ALIVE, ALIVE!
UNDATED (AP) -- Here's that warning again: don't believe everything you read on the Internet. It might say something like "Miley Cyrus is dead." Which it did. And, which, she isn't. Miley Cyrus is very much alive. Someone hacked into her YouTube account and posted a video claiming she'd been killed by a drunk driver. The video has been taken down. It had a fake message from Cyrus pal Mandy Jiroux, who quickly denied the rumor in a posting on her official MySpace page. She wrote "MILEY IS OK!! Some1 hacked our youtube account."
"BOLT" - MILEY CYRUS
BURBANK, Calif. (AP) -- There's a lesson for celebrities in the movie "Bolt." That's how Miley Cyrus sees it. In a TV series within the movie, Bolt is a pooch with super-powers. But he finds out that when the cameras aren't rolling, he's a regular dog. Cyrus says that's kind of like what "celebrities have to face all the time." She says sometimes "you have to put that character away and just be a normal person." In the movie, Cyrus is the voice of "Bolt's" person, as the dog calls her. It'll be in theaters on Friday.
"MADAGASCAR 2" - JADA PINKETT SMITH
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Speaking for Gloria the hippo was easier the second time around for Jada Pinkett Smith. The first time, she says she didn't know anything about how animation worked. She admits she had "a really difficult time trying to figure out" the process of voice work. But when it came time to record her lines for "Madagascar 2," she was ready. This time, she says, the experience was fun. <
BOX OFFICE
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- "Quantum of Solace" is one Bond with high value. With more than $67 million, it had the best opening weekend ever for a James Bond film. That was nearly $30 million more that the opening weekend for Daniel Craig's first Bond film, "Casino Royale." ""Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" is pushed down to second place with another $35 million. "Role Models" is in third and "High School Musical 3" is in fourth. "Changeling" is in fifth. Here's the rest of the weekend's top-ten: "Zack and Miri Make a Porno," "Soul Men," "The Secret Life of Bees," "Saw V" and "Beverly Hills Chihuahua."
SETH ROGEN - PORNO ON SHOWTIME?
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Apparently Seth Rogen can never have too much porno. Variety says Rogen and his producing partner are developing a comedy series for Showtime. And, it's about three twentysomethings who learn about life and love while running a shop that sells pornography. Of course, Rogen's current movie is "Zack and Miri Make a Porno."
SACHA BARON COHEN - CRASHES THE "MEDIUM" SET
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Was this an inside job? Otherwise, how did an unruly extra get on the set of the TV series, "Medium." It turned out to be Sacha Baron Cohen in his Bruno role as an outrageous fashion reporter. Baron Cohen is making a movie centered around the Bruno character. A security guard kicked this Bruno-guy off the set. It's not known if there was a camera somewhere filming this for the Bruno movie.
"FROST/NIXON" - STACY KEACH
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Stacy Keach does an impression of Richard Nixon's voice in the play "Frost/Nixon," and he admits he doesn't look anything like him. But that's not the point. Keach says "it's more about capturing the essence of the man's soul." Not that he didn't try prosthetics at first. He got a nose built, a cheek, an upper lip, teeth and eyes. He tried them on for his wife, who told him he looked like "a Chicago gangster." Keach now only uses a wig. The touring production of the play about David Frost's televised interviews with Nixon is at the Kennedy Center in Washington all this month. The movie version starring Frank Langella as Nixon opens next month.
HEATHER LOCKLEAR - CHARGED WITH A DIFFERENT KIND OF DUI
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) -- Heather Locklear has been charged with driving under the influence. But, it's not for alcohol. The CHP says back in September, Locklear's car was parked on a highway, blocking a lane. They say she showed "obvious impairment" which they've determined was from prescription drugs. Earlier in the year, Locklear had been treated for anxiety and depression. She's supposed to be arraigned January 26th.
"TWILIGHT" DAY CONVENTION
GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) -- It isn't "Twilight" time yet. The movie comes out later this week. But, plans are in the works for a special "Twilight" day at a sci-fi convention May 3rd in Los Angeles. Three of the film's stars have signed on already: Kellan Lutz, Michael Welch and Ashley Greene.
CHRISTOPHER LLOYD - REACTS TO BURNED HOME
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Christopher Lloyd had a bunch of memorabilia from his career that he still hadn't organized when his home burned last week. He says he "kind of" doesn't "have to worry about that now." Lloyd tells "Good Morning America" he won't rebuild his home. It was worth $11 million and was among hundreds of homes lost in the fires sweeping California. His was in the very upscale community of Montecito, near Santa Barbara. Lloyd says "you watch TV, you see these kinds of incidents happening here and there, but you look with a kind of detachment because it's happening ... elsewhere." But, he says "suddenly to be in the midst of it, it's a very different awareness."
