ASA GEORGE joined the ABC22/Fox 45 news team in 2004. Prior to Dayton, she worked as a reporter at KLKN in Lincoln, NE and a reporter at News 8 in Austin, TX.
Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Asa graduated from the University of Texas where she majored in Journalism with a concentration in Spanish. She also went to school at the University of Salamanca in Spain where she studied Art History and Spanish.
In 2004, Asa received Nebraska 's Associated Press Award for General News. Asa also received an Ohio A.P. award in 2006.
Since moving to Dayton , she has been involved with several philanthropic activities such as Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Furry Scurry, and the Humane Society Pet-A-Thon. Asa especially enjoys helping out Dayton's Humane Society in every way that she can. In fact, Asa just fostered a puppy from the Butler County Humane Society.
Asa loves cheering on the Texas Longhorns. She also enjoys running with her "partner in crime", a 6 year old boxer named Quinten (named after former Longhorn Quinten Jammer).
Asa is currently training for the Wright Patterson Air force Marathon. Asa says she enjoys painting, lifting weights and eating out with friends... especially good steak and sushi!

Dayton's News Source is proud to introduce CANDICE HUNTER, the newest member to our anchor team.
Candice is an award winning anchor/reporter and a member of the National Politics Honor Society. She graduated from Old Dominion University with a bachelor's degree in political science. Candice spent a semester in Mexico studying Spanish at the University of Guadalajara.
Candice began her career in her hometown of Norfolk, Va., as a weathercaster but soon found her true passion was news. She has spent the last few years working in Cincinnati. One of her most memorable interviews was with John Glenn.
She enjoys mentoring a 12-year-old girl, who participates in the University of Kentucky's "Girls in Science/Girls in Research" Program. After losing several relatives to cancer Candice devotes her time and talent to cancer fund-raising events.
Candice is a classically trained pianist and avid golfer. She enjoys cooking dinner for friends and running with her 2-year-old Weimaraner, Grace.

CARA ZINSKI joined the ABC22/FOX45 news team as Executive Producer in January 2005. She started her career in Dayton at WHIO-TV as a part time assignment editor and associate producer, but then moved to Stubenville , OH where she was a full time reporter. A year later she returned to Dayton and took on the reponsibilities of producer, reporter and anchor at WHIO.
Cara graduated from Carlynton Senior High School in Carnegie , PA and received a BA from the University of Dayton where she majored in communications.
An athlete all of her life, Cara enjoys running, playing soccer and basketball and recently started rowing. She and her husband also do some dog rescuing and fostering, a hobby they got into after rescuing their dog, Hendrix.
Cara and her husband are the proud parents of a son.

DON HAMMOND is an anchor reporter for WKEF/ WRGT T-V.
His previous assignment for Sinclair Broadcast group was in Washington D-C as the Bureau Chief.
Don was born in Ohio and grew up in the Dayton Cincinnati area and began in news broadcasting in 1979 at a small radio station in Fairfield, Ohio. During his career he has specialized in defense related topics with an emphasis on military veterans.
Hammond has served in almost every aspect of the TV news operation; as a photographer, editor, director, reporter and anchor. His resume reflects news anchor positions in Cleveland, Biloxi, Dayton, San Antonio and Sacramento.
Don is a former soldier with the 25th Infantry Division. He later became an Airborne Jungle expert qualified member of the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service.
Among other awards in radio and TV he has received a prestigious Keith L. Ware Army broadcast award, a team Emmy and an Army Commendation Medal for putting a fire out on top of an ammo dump.
Hammond is also a former Army wrestler that won a state of Hawaii Greco Roman wrestling title in 1976.

KATHY HART was born and raised in Boston, Mass. She received a BA in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts and received a Masters degree in Mass Communication from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Kathy worked at WDTN-TV in Dayton for a decade from 1990-2000 and in that time traveled to Florida to cover Hurricane Andrew and also traveled to Bosnia with a Christian Charity that delivered gifts to children there at the end of the war. She has received numerous awards over the past 10-years including an Emmy for the program, "Bosnia, Gifts of Hope," a prestigious Judges Award from the Ohio Associated Press for the same program, and Associated Press First Place award for 'Best Reporter' in Ohio in 1995. She also received an award from the Press Club of Cleveland Awards.
Kathy decided to leave the business in 1990 to become a full-time mom and after six years is thrilled to be back anchoring the morning show on Fox 45! Kathy currently lives in Warren County with husband and children. |

MARK POMPILIO came to Dayton in 1999 to anchor the 6 and 11 newscasts on NBC 22 (now ABC22)... and to become the first male co-anchor of FOX 45 News at 10.
Mark is a graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC and began his journalism career as a sports editor. He became a TV news reporter and rose to primary anchor at WLOS-TV in the Asheville, NC - Greenville- Spartanburg, SC area before coming to WKEF/WRGT.
Mark has won several awards for his reporting... most recently, first place in the 2006 Ohio Excellence in Journalism competition for his series of reports on his co-anchor, Michelle Kingsfield's battle against cancer while pregnant.
Mark and his family live in Beavercreek. His wife is a flight attendant and he has two daughters. Mark volunteers at St. Luke School and St. Luke Parish. He supports area charities, especially the Muscular Dystrophy Association through his role as co-host of the annual Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon.
Mark is an avid cyclist and skier. He's taught skiing for more than 20 years, and is a member of the ski school staff at Mad River Mountain ski area in Bellfountaine.

 MIKE TERWILLEGER is a native of the Miami Valley and he now resides in West Chester with his wife, his sons and their three dogs.
Mike's interest in Meteorology was sparked by his sighting of a tornado on April 3, 1974, the same storm system that struck Xenia. Mike earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics from UC and then studied Atmospheric science at OSU. Mike has been a weather anchor at WKEF since 1996. Mike is a member of the American Meteorological Society and has been awarded the Broadcasters Seal of Approval.
Mike enjoys most sports and is a lifelong fan of the Reds and Bengals. Mike frequently visits schools and organizations and considers this to be one of the most rewarding aspects of his job.

NATHAN BAKER hails from Union, OH where he graduated from Northmont High School. He attended Bowling Green State University in 2003.
Nathan began his career as a news reporter at WLIO an NBC affiliate in Lima, OH. His career turned towards sports after taking a sports anchor position at the WOHL/WLMO station in Lima. Shortly after taking the position, Nathan became the sports director. Nathan joined ABC22 and FOX45 in April 2006 as the weekend sports anchor and reporter.
He is excited about coming to Dayton and can't wait to begin covering his two favorite pro teams: the Reds and the Bengals. Nathan likes to spend his spare time with his family and friends. He is also an avid golfer, outdoors man, and loves watching any and all sports.

PETE SCALIA is the newest addition to our morning anchor team.
Pete is a Cincinnati native and graduate of Ohio University . He has not only worked in television but also has extensive radio experience. He is an accomplished musician and thoroughly enjoyed the summer he opened for classic rockers Ted Nugent and Bad Company. He still enjoys performing occasionally with his father's band. He is a trustee of the Order Sons of Italy in America and an advocate for the Arthritis Foundation.
Pete's love of cartoon characters has landed him numerous jobs as a voice actor. He also spends a lot of time chasing after his pet Vizsla, "Dino". Watch Pete weekday mornings from 5am-9am on Dayton 's News Source.

RHONDA MOORE is a Dayton native and graduated Cum Laude with a B.A in Mass Communications from Wright State University. She started her career at WKEF as an assignment editor/ Producer & Reporter. Rhonda later moved on to work as a news and sports Anchor/Reporter at WHBQ-TV in Memphis, Tennessee. In 2001 she returned home and rejoined the ABC22/FOX45 team as a Reporter.
Rhonda is a member of the Greater Dayton Association of Black Journalist and the National Council of Negro Women.
Rhonda enjoys playing tennis, jogging , roller-blading, and watching sports (especially football) She claims to be the Dallas Cowboys #1 fan.

SETH BAUGUESS is a general assignment reporter who had Dayton on his work wish list ever since he graduated college at the University of Cincinnati.
A native of Cincinnati's northern suburbs, Seth earned his degree from the College Conservatory of Music's Electronic Media Division in 2001.
Happily he went back to his roots for his first on-camera job in
Hopkinsville, Kentucky. After a year in Western Kentucky, Seth moved to the Deep South to a town called Macon, Georgia. As a news reporter there, he got to interview former first lady Rosalyn Carter, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, former NBA all-star Dominique Wilkins and prize fighter Roy Jones junior. In Macon Seth worked the city hall and military beats for a couple years before joining Dayton's News Source in August of 2006.
Seth is married to a girl from Oakwood and has family in Beavercreek, Riverside and Greenville. As a reporter Seth enjoys learning a little bit about a lot of things,
and meeting all the people from the stories he covers along the way.

CRAIG DEMCHAK is a six-time Emmy winner, and has worked in television news for more than 25 years. His responsibilities include training and content development at Sinclair Broadcast Group's affiliate news operations across the country, as well as special-projects producing and reporting.
Craig began his career in radio at the age of 15. He has since gone on to report, anchor, and/or manage his way through stays at WBOC-TV/Salisbury, MD, WTAJ-TV/Altoona, PA, WHTM-TV/Harrisburg, PA, WBFF-TV/Baltimore, MD, and WTTA-TV/Tampa, FL.
Two of Craig's Emmys are for news writing; other journalistic honors include seven Associated Press awards, and five Society of Professional Journalists awards. He enjoys great storytelling, producing longer-format special projects, and a quick round of golf. Craig and wife Mary have a daughter in college who is largely unimpressed by broadcast journalism, and two dogs who more closely resemble stuffed toys.

MORRIS JONES is the Chief National Correspondent for Sinclair Broadcast Group's Washington Newsroom. Morris is an award winning anchor and journalist who has covered Washington and it's politics for decades. He's interviewed dozens of national news makers, including one-on-one interviews with President George W. Bush, Condoleezza Rice, and Donald Rumsfeld.
Originally from the Rocky Mountain West, Morris considers the DC/Baltimore area his home having lived in the area for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Sinclair, Morris was the long-time anchor for the FOX 5 Ten O'clock News in Washington. He's also held anchor positions in Denver, Florida and Los Angeles.
When not in front of the camera, Morris enjoys mountain biking and other physical activities.

LINDSEY KURTZ is excited to be a part of the Dayton’s News Source weather team. Her love for outdoor sports is what sparked her interest in weather. Lindsey understands how weather can really effect your life and is eager to provide an accurate forecast to get you through the week and outside enjoying the weather. Lindsey is a Skywarn spotter certified by the national weather service and cum laude graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida with a degree in Meteorology. Lindsey is a 3 year NAIA Collegiate All American Tennis Player and very involved in community outreach programs. Recently she had the opportunity to take a mission trip to Neply, Haiti. That was a great experience for her and she can’t wait to do what she can to help those in need in the Miami Valley. MALCOLM MADDOX is an Anchor/Reporter for Dayton’s News Source considers
himself to be a multi-media specialist and brings 12 years of broadcasting experience to the Dayton’s News Source team. Malcolm definitely has the broadcasting bug. He began his career in radio as a DJ and has worked as a news photojournalist and reporter. Over the years he’s learned from some of the best photographers, reporters, and
producers in the business. His experiences have taught him the art of story telling, which can be seen nightly in many of his reports for Dayton’s News Source. Outside of work Malcolm is a bass guitarist, who
enjoys studying jazz improvisation and spending time with his wife and three kids. Malcolm considers joining the Marine Corps one of his greatest accomplishments. Persistence, Determination and Technical Knowledge are some of the foundations he established from his training in the United States Marine Corps.
